BelongHere ("we," "us," "our") is operated by DLR Labs LLC. This policy explains what information the BelongHere app collects, how we use it, and your choices. BelongHere does not require an account, login, email, or phone number to use.
Information We Collect
- Name (optional): If you choose to provide your name, or if it comes up in conversation, it is stored on your device and included with your messages to personalize your experience. You are never required to provide it.
- Your messages: The messages and reflections you share in the app.
- A session identifier: A randomly generated ID that lets the app function across your requests. It is not tied to your real identity, email, or an account.
We do not collect your email, phone number, legal name, precise location, or advertising identifiers. We do not use analytics or tracking tools.
Where Your Information Is Stored
- On your device: Your name and your most recent messages (up to 30) are stored locally on your device. You can erase them at any time using "Start over" in Settings, or by deleting the app.
- On our servers: We store limited, session-based information: short conversation summaries (retained up to 90 days), an optional emotional-continuity note (up to 60 days), and daily usage counts (up to 24 hours). We do not store your full conversation history on our servers.
How We Use Information
We use this information solely to provide and improve the app's features: to hold conversations, remember context so you don't have to repeat yourself, and personalize your experience. We do not sell your personal information.
AI Processing
To generate supportive responses, the messages you send are processed by a third-party AI provider (Anthropic). This is used only to produce replies and short summaries within the app. Messages you send are not used to train third-party AI models.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions are offered through Apple and managed with the help of RevenueCat, which processes subscription and purchase status to deliver and restore your access. Payment is handled by Apple; we do not receive or store your payment card details.
Voice Input
If you use voice input, speech is converted to text on your device. We do not upload or store audio recordings.
Data Retention and Deletion
On-device data remains until you clear it or delete the app. Server-side summaries, threads, and usage counts expire automatically on the timeframes above. You can clear your server-side memory at any time using "Start over," which also resets your session identifier.
Children's Privacy
BelongHere is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Not a Crisis Service
BelongHere is a wellness and companionship app. It is not a medical, therapy, or crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, contact 988 or 911.
